Colin Thompson
Dr. Colin Thompson has over 30 years’ experience as a Managing Director. His career to date has given him extensive exposure to business management and management of people. He has wide, top level management in PLC and private companies, of increasing sales and profit. He has turnaround and re-engineering experience linked to new corporate identities and successful mergers and take-overs, and he has developed many business models to increase profitability.
Board level positions he has held include Chairman, Managing Director, Director – Print Management and Workflow Solutions, Director – Operations/Customer Service and Marketing, Director – Financial and Administration and Non – Executive Director
He is the former Group Chairman of The Academy for Chief Executives and has worked for Datagraphic Inc. UK (a division of USA Group), Forms UK plc (now etrinsic plc) (a division of InnerWorkings Inc. USA), WH Smith PLC – Print/Distribution and Workflow Solutions, Kenrick & Jefferson Group Ltd and Mail Solutions Group (a division of SSWH PLC).
He is currently Professor – European Business School, Cambridge, UK and Regional Director – Mature Accountants Limited.
His training and knowledge has enabled him to take an overall view of an organisation, its operations and strategy. Also, he has dealt with challenges at a high level of complexity, especially those that cut across the common functional divisions of business. He has developed several business models to improve the ‘bottom-line’ and has set up new UK ‘green field’ manufacturing/distribution/workflow systems operations and has marketed new products and services, he has designed and implemented a print management service, including writing a book Print Management and Workflow Solutions, and has produced a CD-ROM Interpreting Accounts for the Non-Financial Manager.

Colin has written and had published over 500 articles, several books, guides, research reports, and CDs on the subject of business and educational models. He also speaks at International Conferences and is a Visiting University Professor on the international circuit.
